As mentioned back in December, we decided to postpone our Q4 Town Meeting so we could present the most accurate information about what went on in 2011. Today we’re happy to announce our next Town Meeting will be broadcast live from our new office on Wednesday, February 15th at 6pm EST.
A Town Meeting, for the uninitiated, is a once a quarter, livestreamed event, where we, the Quirky Staff, give the community a full rundown on what went on over the past three months, as well as what exciting things we have in the pipeline.
So, to recap:
What: Q4.5 Town Meeting
When: Wednesday, February 15, 2012 – 6pm ET
Where: Quirky’s Ustream Channel
As always, after the Town Meeting presentation, we’ll hold a no holds Read More...

This week, after an extensive Eval, the Quirky team decided to pursue these seven selected idea submissions further. We are going to be putting all of these ideas under development, starting with the design phase, to further explore their possibilities and see if they have the potential to be world changing products.
Josh Hanes works for a crane construction company in Chicago. His grandfather had to get a very serious procedure done, called nephrostomy, after his kidney’s failed. Josh told us that the outcome of this procedure was that his grandfathers urine would be redirected into an external bag. The problem with this medical bag was that it strapped around his grandfather’s leg using velcro. It w Read More...

Seamstresses, sewers, and clothiers rejoice! We’re proud to introduce Seamster, a seam allowance marking tool used to transfer paper patterns to fabric. Transferring patterns is ordinarily a time-consuming and cumbersome process, but our seam allowance marker cuts this time in half by drawing two parallel lines onto the fabric at the same time. The pen slots are made of a soft, flexible grippy plastic which allows for different pen diameters. One pen stays firmly fixed in place while the other slides magnetically in a track to allow for multiple seam allowance measurements. With Seamster, crafting clothes and textiles is much less tedious and a lot more joyous.
Seamstress Teree LeSueur came up with a fresh idea to improve the fu Read More...
Sorry folks. Our badass brainstorm battle-station is not yet fully operational. Tomorrow’s brainstorm is cancelled.
We’ll work on getting brainstorms back on track as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.
Cardboard boxes aren’t just trash. To children they’re clubhouses, fortresses, and hiding places. Reclaim these boxes and foster your youngins’ creativity with Linkets. These colorful connectors allow kids ages 6 and up to attach cardboard pieces in imaginative ways. Since Linkets rotate from 0 to 90 degrees, the possibilities are endless.
When his son Matt built a cardboard spaceship in the living room, Michael Muscarella realized that kids love to build. He imagined a solution that would pique Matt’s creativity and eliminate the need for hot glue, staples, or other wasteful materials. With the help of the Quirky Design Staff and over 445 influencers, Michael and Matt’s idea became Linkets. You can check out the finished p Read More...
