Chop & Top: Introducing… Poppit

posted ago by baron

Recipes don’t always call for whole fruits and veggies, but storing those orphan halves can wreak havoc on your tupperware. Poppit was designed with just such a problem in mind, featuring concentric layers that provide a tight seal on any exposed produce, from onions to oranges. Simply push a halved fruit or vegetable into Poppit’s surface, and one of its silicone rings will engage automatically, expanding to accomodate produce regardless of size. With a handful of these in your kitchen arsenal, no peach or pepper will ever be left behind.

After seeing one too many onions go bad in her fridge, inventor Yolanda Jackson decided to devise a solution, and submitted a concept for fruit and veggie toppers that would keep her produce fresh. The concept captured our attention at Eval, and after some tricky engineering, and some input from 6332 community influencers, Poppit is now revved and ready to take your fridge by storm. Head to Quirky’s Upcoming section to learn more about this product, and to help us determine its price.

Pricing.... selling this individually or in a three-pack like shown???

I have my doubts that this product could accurately seal the fruit or vegetable, however it looks cool as Hell. I would need to see test results to see if this is any better or even as good as aluminum foil or Saran Wrap, I think the test results would prove it's just another banana bonnet...... I agree that if it does work it would be a big seller...

Will it retain the smell of the fruit or veggie it was previously used with?

I am thinking that these will double for other random uses as well. I wonder what else they could be used for.

I priced them as three per pack. You just threw off the pricing game for people that took into account there would be three in a pack. UNJUST at its best!!!!!
