Back in September 2009, Quirky brought PowerCurl to the world in only 24 hours. Fast forward three years to September 2012, and we held another 24 hour sprint to find and develop accessories for Apple’s newly announced iPhone 5. From this came PowerCurl Mini, an adapter and earbuds cord organizer that is to the iPhone 5 what PowerCurl is to the MacBook. It consists of two parts: a grooved, internal plastic frame that houses your iPhone’s power adapter, and a flexible sleeve that keeps everything contained. Simply insert your adapter and peel back the sleeve on both ends to wrap your earbuds and power cord separately. Simple, sleek, and compact: no more tangled cords cluttering your bag.

Inventor Blaine Warkentine was tired of carrying loose cords for his phone and he wanted a way to keep them neat, tidy, and in one place. During Quirky’s Apple Accessories Design-a-thon, he submitted his idea for an iPhone 5 PowerCurl that would let him organize his earbud and power cords together. The Quirky community snatched up the idea right away, and 189 influencers later PowerCurl Mini is ready for the primetime.
