What are your favorite TED Talks?

Did you know that almost exactly three years ago, Quirky's platform (then known as kluster) launched at TED2008? (Robin Williams LOVED us.)

We have history with good ol' TED, and this week, Ben, Mike Lacy, and Jason Port(o-Dog) are back in Long Beach to "rediscover wonder" and listen to inspiring TED Talks with luminaries from around the world at TED2011.

One of our favorite TED Talks comes from author Elizabeth Gilbert, best known for inspiring divorcées around the world to purchase round-the-world airplane tickets. In the talk, she speaks about the agony of creating, and proposes that every person has a "genius" within us. It's a talk that resonates with us at HQ, and it's something we wanted to share with all of you.

What are your favorite TED Talks? Share them with us here.

Many! I'll start by saying "anything by Dan Gilbert." However, I will start specifically with the following as I hope it is inspirational for the QS (as best as Behavioral Economists can be) in advancing the evaluation rounds' effectiveness.

The summary you're supposed to get is that people are motivated by and react in illogical manners, and when you combine voting for what you like with the chance to make $$... well. I would love to hear what Dan Gilbert could tell us about our community evaluation rounds.

Also, Why are we happy? by Dan Gilbert is wonderful too.

This is a little lighter watching...

Sir Ken Robinson gave a fantastic talk on creativity & education. I'm also a big fan of Hans Rosling.

Oh man, I'm so, so excited to watch these later tonight, especially the Dan Gilbert.

I'll throw another into the ring -- unrelated to creativity, but world-changing nonetheless.

Mark Bitman is quite elegant. I love watching him eat and talk about paellas in "Spain ...On the Road Again." Ha!

Now this one's short and quirky (3 min). I want to live in a plant home!

This is one of my favourites. I think members here will relate to since we are here on Quirky to be "makers".

Oh man... soOOOooooooo many favorite TED talks!

Here's a favorite of mine, and hopefully a favorite of any fan of Kinetic art, and engineering... When I grow up I hope to be Arthur Ganson...

Not TED, but one of the more entertaining talks I've heard. Ben should learn from him:
