Does resubmitting your idea work?

Hi all, i have noticed there is this resubmission option as well. But what i am curious about is does it really work?
Or should one resubmit one's idea if one thinks it is good? And are there any cases that you know when resubmitting has worked?

I ask because sometimes a good idea might be unwittingly missed by members. So may be the next time it might have a better chance?
Please do let me know if I am thinking something smart or talking plain silly! :-)

Several ideas have won on resubmits, I believe the most recent one was the silli-trivits idea.

Oh really! That's nice. Thank you ErinK.
Any thoughts on why resubmitting works?
If you think i am asking too many questions, then please feel free to ignore them.
I am just trying to figure out the place.

Your questions are fine. I think usually when someone wins on a resubmit they take the feedback they got from their original submission to make their resubmit better.

Yes, right. That makes sense. Thank you once again.

I was thinking about resubmitting my cleaning solutions product, I made some revisions to it that really improve the overall product.

That's great Artemis.

I realize that even if one's idea doesn't make it. One can still take the feedback and thereby improve on the idea to make it better which i think is really great actually.

Good luck with your improved product idea.

How long after not winning can you expect feedback? Does every product receive feedback?

Gene, the feedback I was referring to was the community comments on your submission, along with the analytics Quirky provides. You will not get specific feedback from Quirky staff unless you made it into the top 5 or were selected as a wildcard, and even then, the feedback from them is fairly limited (read the latest eval recap in the blog to see what I mean).

Hi Daniel, just wanted to know your thoughts. Why do you think it did good when you resubmitted it? Did you incorporate changes based on feedback? And do you think that made a difference? Or just that in the earlier round people didn't come across it? How much vote difference was there between your last submission and your resubmission? Your answer would be highly appreciated bcoz I am thinking of resubmitting as well.

I was wondering the same thing, then after my last submission I finally had a higher score than 1 or 7 total. I also made some changes from the responses and hope for the best. Only time will tell-good luck on your ventures eJunkie..........

I submitted an idea once, and it missed the Top 5 by literally 1 or 2 votes (I know because I had a different idea make Top 5 that week).
.
Well, I resubmitted that idea with minor modifications last week, and now it's under consideration. So yes, resubmitting does work.
.
I think taking feedback into account is part of it, but with voting there's also an element of chance. Some weeks you may just have more users online who like your idea, and that can make the difference. Also, I think you have a better chance of going under consideration with the new system, but some people might debate that.
