I agree on Nikola Tesla I love how simple and well designed the AC motor is basically 2 parts. So simple and pure like E=mc² it changed the world. I read somewhere he got the idea by watching how the sun set and it looks like it revolves around the earth so he made the magnetic field revolve in his design.

I swore when I was a child, that I would never lick my child's face like my Mom did. Thank God for the inventor of wet wipes whom allowed me to keep my promise.

You know how it is with major inventions? At first everybody says "it is impossible to do and you are just some crank with your insane idea" then "it is too expensive to do and your idea has no benefit to anyone" then "it is so obvious, why do you think it is your idea?" then "You better not be asking me for any compensation for this trivial, obvious thing."

Tesla died penniless, in a hotel room, paid for by Westinghouse because Westinghouse felt sorry for Tesla. Tesla's ideas were ripped off by Edison and Marconi, who had built industrial empires based on Tesla's ideas. Edison actually ripped off Tesla literally by promising him $50,000 for Tesla's work on electrical systems at the Edison's company and then renegged. Edison is credited with being the greatest inventor ever, with the largest number of U.S. patents. Most of his patents, however, were likely the work of his employees and if he tried to apply for them today they would be rejected for bearing the wrong name.

In case you heard that Al Gore invented the internet, it is wrong. He just invented the global warming.
