Honestly...Who would buy this?

OK, nobody is going to admit to spending money on a bendable spoon?

I've got them and use them all the time.

Why? Not being rude...but why?

It stays on my mug making it MY spoon, not the office community spoon, and I never need to set it down on a filthy surface. My second, third and fourth cup allows me to pour, add sugar, cream and stir, and leave the spoon in the mug and still drink without poking my eye.
I use one for plastic yogurt cups and it doesn't tip them over.
I keep one in the sugar bowl and can push it into the sugar and put the lid on.
.
Oh... and it's spelled Mugstir.

You might also find it useful as an alternative to your cork on the fork. ;-)

Aaaah, I get it now, the video was most helpful. I certainly understand not being able to use a disposable straw to stir your drink in an office setting, the danger is incredible! Not to mention the impact on the environment! Think of the waste! Besides that, I've seen way to many people end up in the emergency room from straw induced eye stabs not to mention the bacterial induced pandemic infections from mishandled spoons! The mugster will in fact save eyesight, lives and reduce medical costs and its environmentally happy. I can see this being a winner.

I bought one in pre-sales. It is by far the least useful Quirky product I have bought.

The MugStir will save the planet!...kidding... Well, honestly there are quite a few people who buy this. I don't have any grand delusions that I will retire from profits and I can take criticism, but what is the point of saying you don't like a product?

My mother has terrible arthritis in her hands and has trouble gripping utensils. She uses them by slipping her finger into the bendable handle. This allows her to use the spoon without having to grab it. Extremely useful for something that wasn't part of it's original intended use.

Michael, nice example of exaptation. Now if Quirky were to make another version, they could gear it even more toward that usage.

Wait, its not bendable? Its pre-bent and stays in that position? Well, that make so much more sense now.

@ judi sigler-

Its hard sometimes to deal with being passed over- but personally I think your idea is cool= and there is no shame on my part to saying- well done and certainly enough respect after that to congratulate you for managing to achieve something- others could not. Despite their sense of self prowess.

Well done- congratulations again-
Tony

@Judi you're right. There is no reason to say I don't like it, and I apologize for that. I agree that if the spoon were bendable, it could be more useful. The product doesn't fit snugly against the mug, causing it to jiggle when I raise the mug.

I'm glad it's doing fairly well. My purchase has paid for itself.

Thank you @Tony -- You've restored my faith in the Quirky community. I also appreciate the sentiment Yell, thank you.

@Steven, I am glad to send you a set of MugStirs so you can see whether or not you like them, first hand, rather than guessing from a photograph. I think an honest opinion can be productive. Just send me a PM with a shipping address.

No product is perfect, I know there's room for improvement with the MugStir (or any product for that matter). I am hopeful Quirky continues the path they've taken with Cordies / SpaceBar / Bobble Brush & continue to evolve & improve every product in the Quirky line up.
