What does it take to make it to UC?

I am wondering what it takes to reach UC?

Is it the vote, comments or the quirky staff choosing, what is it in the product that they are looking for, I have a lot of idea that I listed on my notebook some of them like up to 6 years ago.

I first submitted the one that I think is useful and has short development time, it has pretty good comments and votes but is not being considered for UC. (This idea is up for 5 days so far).

I have other idea but is more complex to execute…

So I am wondering what is the formula….

Any idea, tips to get into UC?

A lot of begging for other members to vote for you, and promising a vote for them in exchange. Quid Pro Quo.

The official word from staff member Rob (marketing) is that Quirky asks each staff member to devote 30 minutes a day to looking at submissions.
(No word on criteria, though.)

So, probably the secret to getting into UC is to catch the eye of a staff member.

IMO that means selling.

So, my suggestion is that we make our submissions look as much like Quirky's product pages as we can.

You seems to be correct Clinton.
It seems they look for Quirky one rather than useful one (,")

I will submit Quirky once (,")

hmmm may be its really hard for quirky to look through all those submissions and because of that they are just choosing ideas from people they worked with in the past. Or it could also be they choose ideas that they think that would be easy to sell as a product. For example they were once crazy about cable organisers! Then it was the BBQ stuff! so many reasons why they would not choose ur ideas!

I would suggest looking at the products they have made or in the upcoming section to get an idea of what type of products they are looking for. They are only looking for products that fit there style and are marketable. In the past they made videos you can find on youtube of them reviewing ideas and they gave why or why not they liked them. Some reasons would be to small of an audience or dont want to enter into a market that already has company monopolizing it like britta water filters.

I think they might have a program that shows which products have the most votes, views and comments then it is up to a staff member to say that they also like your idea for it to be put under consideration.

In my opinion, there has to be a "fit." Certain firms like electronic, and others like fitness. Some like simple products, others like complex - like a vacuum cleaner. I do not know enough about this firm to say but it seems that a simple, intuitive idea, that's easy to make and useful fits best. But you are never out, just need to try somewhere else.
