Some suggestion to make Quirky more successful.

I love this website and I hope for the long term success so I am listing things that I think will be helpful for long term success of Quirky.

1)Use ODM to accelerate development. Just be sure partner with good ones. For example 2 partner in toys category, 2 in kitchen category.

ODM can design for you and them manufacture. just have to give them concept and then quirky employee to monitor development.
Some ODM is also willing to take tooling cost assuming you have the right volume.

Of course this model of ODM can work depending on product being developed, some product have to be developed internally.

2)I might make this community angry on my second point, but let me explain.

Reduce what you give to community and put like 5% to your employee who choose and worked with the product.

This will make Quirky a preferred employer and therefore attract the best talent as they earn additional income for every product they worked on.
