I will get a back operation that my son needs for Scoliosis.

After he recuperates, I will take my daughter and son and travel! http://www.smithsonianmag.com/specialsections/lifelists/lifelist.html?device=ipad

Will continue to "invent" and invest.

Well, I suppose I am dating myself with the headline for this topic, but in the "olden days", when a football team won the Superbowl, the T.V. announcer would ask a player "You just won the Superbowl. What are you going to do next?" And the player (who was paid for the reply) said "I'm going to Disneyland!"

Now... I apologize if the 16 people who looked at this question felt I was being too inquisitive, or perhaps were too young to recall the advertisement, but I was just curious if any of the members had specific plans after they got their invention to the market shelf.

At any rate, Happy Superbowl Sunday! May you all realize your dreams!

Ask Jake.
.
Don't hold your breath, even if you win. Chances are, it will never be made. Look at the number of winners in almost 3 years and how many have been made. It's still a longshot, winning just means they liked it, that day. It doesn't mean they'll make it. Look at the facts.

DDottheGenius,

Thanks for sharing.

What type of companies are you looking forward to starting? I ask because many small businesses are created during times of economic hardship, and perhaps there is a way now of creating them.

Anonymous User,

Thanks for the response.

I realize that inventing the wheel or sliced bread is hard to come by.

I know that you can make quite a bit of money with several inventions or ideas.

I agree the track record on Quirky is non-impressive thus far. I think the company is looking for that "pet rock" idea as well, and missing out on the many viable and profitable inventions and ideas that are submitted.

Debra Courtenay,

Sea World! Fun! I haven't been there either!

Have you thought about saving just a small amount of money every week towards that dream? My daughter and I created a fun "Hawaii Trip" envelope decorated with things from the scrapbooking section at the craft store. I put it in a visual place to remind us of our goal.

mrsb8,

Thank you for sharing that with us! :)

I will assume that you do not have health insurance. May I ask what are you needing diagnosed with your son? What are his health concerns?

My son has an elusive auto-immune- we have been to numerous doctors, my son believes that eventually a disease will be named after him (not really funny but it is what it is) We do have health insurance on him- so Thank god for that

mrsb8,

I myself have an auto immune disease - Lupus. It is a bizarre disease in that many things can affect it, sunlight, fatigue, stress, etc., so I can empathize with what your son is going through.

Of course being his mom, this elusive problem of his is going to frustrate you, worry you, and wear on you. I am very glad you do have the insurance, as it would be almost breaking the bank to have to foot that gigantic bill yourself. I know of many people who had to sell their homes, spend all their savings, etc. to get medical care for a loved one.

Is there any way you can press upon the doctor to make that referral? Oftentimes, as they have a gazillion patients, the urgency is just not there. I have had to really pester doctors about things, as that seemed to work. Being proactive can help.
