    The Problem

Solar cells only produce a current of electricity when light excites electrons from their orbits to higher orbits, so no light no current.

    The Solution

By inserting a glow in the dark chemical or chemicals to the semiconductor layer of the cell light normally transformed to heat in the cell would be absorbed to later turn to photons and then to a current when dark. A solar cell that generates electricity daytime AND night time.

    The Problem

Most of us know that we should floss our teeth daily; yet many of us do not because carefully flossing each individual tooth is tedious, and requires much skill, and takes too much time. As a result, many people do not floss and suffer from gum disease, etc. More people would floss if there was an easier, faster way. Also, current, manual flossing has several problems: a. Much floss is wasted by being wrapped around the fingers. b. Too much or too little floss is often used. c. The same dirty area of the floss may be used repeatedly on multiple teeth. d. Teeth may be skipped unknowingly. There is no way of ensuring that all teeth have been flossed. e. Manual flossing requires great skill that many people may never attain, thus flossing teeth insufficiently over years. f. Flossing each individual tooth requires much time, skill, care, and effort that many people do not have.

    The Solution

Imagine a hand-held device that would floss the entire lower set of teeth with a single action with little skill, taking about 5-10 seconds. The user would then repeat the flossing action on the upper set of teeth, for another 5-10 seconds, thus flossing all teeth in just 10-20 seconds and 2 easy actions! It may require an additional 15-20 seconds to change floss between teeth sets. The device would feed the correct amount of floss to do the job. After flossing, the user would easily discard the 1 or 2 pieces of dirty floss. The device would likely be battery-powered or rechargeable and would feed the floss, and floss the teeth automatically. The device may need to be offered in multiple sizes for various sized mouths. The device may need to be initially set once for the individual mouth. Once set, the device would enable the floss to easily find its way between each tooth, with minor guidance by the user. The device would require little skill and effort by the user. The device may need to operate with a variety of floss types. A specially designed floss package may need to be manufactured to fit in the device. The device would need to operate safely inside the mouth. The device would need to be washable. A parent may need to assist with the initially setting of the device for a child under 12 years of age, but once set, the average person age 12+ should be capable of flossing with the device.

    The Problem

You're always scrambling for the pegs, and those peg bags just add to washing woes. They get wet and you can never find the pegs aligning just right to grab one. Those of us who cannot be bothered to spend any more time or spare any more thought to washing than absolutely necessary, Snappy won't hang the laundry for you - but is sure to deal with the pegs and hopefully relieve some frustration.

    The Solution

Loop the straight bit over the line, and thread through, snap your washing pegs on and they're hanging on ready to be used.

    The Problem

The problem When hand peeling spuds especially smaller ones I always find they keep slipping from my fingers when im peeling them, especially when you rotate them after removing the first half of the skin and with those tiny ones im always concerned if I might catch my fingers with my French peeler. I know you can buy cooks gloves that might solve this, but you don’t always want to have a full glove on when peeling, you tend to lose a bit of control and feeling.

    The Solution

The solution Two separate finger Bobs one for the thumb and one for the index finger with mini spikes in them, slip them on like a thimble or gumifinger, they will help grip the food item, also protecting you fingers from any slips of the peeler. Made from a rubber material with tiny stainless pins embedded into the rubber they would fit most fingers being a one size fits all so you could buy more than two. Also might be handy for filleting fish or chicken which can be slimy to handle as well. the second image shown is from wiki, and is for a paper gummifinger bob to show a smaller version idea of size, the opposite side has a flat guide plate for a knife, so when slicing veg, the knife has a guide, as well as offering finger protection it also gives stability as the spikes help hold the veg/fruits more firmly, this would be an advantage to those with poor grip or knfe/cooking skills adding an extra saftey confidence to the cooking process, might also be handy to help teach kids in a safer way.

    The Problem

Machine shops, welding shops, farmer's workshops, plumbers, warehouses, hospitals, and many other businesses use tanks of gas for various things like cutting torches, propane powered forklifts and even BBQs. Quite often the hoses fed by the tank valves leak. It's not at all uncommon to come to work in the morning and discover all the gas has leaked out of the tank over night because you forgot to turn off the valve on the welding tank, forklift, etc. Then you have to hassle with getting a tank filled and the expense of refilling the tanks... which can be quite pricy. Safety is also an issue since often times the flammable gases can collect in low areas and become an explosion hazard.

    The Device

The device, what I am calling a safety-alert-handle is a valve handle that clamps onto the existing valve handles on oxygen, acetylene, propane, and other gas tank valves. Contained within the handle are a circuit and batteries. When you turn on the gas valve the rotation of the handle turns on a switch and activates the alert app circuit. Turning the valve handle the other direction shuts off the alert circuit. The app can remind you if there are gas valves open just before you leave work for the night, or you can use the app on your phone to check the status any valves you may be worried about. If you are in charge of a warehouse with propane forklifts, or a welding or machine shop etc. you could have your app alert you a few minutes before you leave the facility if any valves are still on. At any time you could check to make sure you remembered to shut off any particular valve. Great for BBQs and motor homes, trailers, and camping equipment too. The savings from one incident could possibly pay for the handle.
