I do a fair number of long haul flights with connections and it really pisses me off when the bottle of water I bought after security at one airport gets ditched at the next. So morally I'm right behind this idea.
The previous comments about the 'camelbak' type soft bag with hard lid seems good, allowing perhaps for a solution that takes up less space in your hand luggage, but carries a reasonable amount of water from the fountain. Not your initial market aim I know, but it expands your options.
Thinking about form. Perhaps a flexible tube rather than a bottle. With a valve at both ends so you could suck the tube full from whatever the chosen source of drink. The tube could be stored as a length, spiral, or whatever is convenient.
Think of the fun the kids will have (at your expense)!
    And a great conversation piece.
OK, I admit that this is utterly impractical, but maybe it will get you thinking outside the box.

What about a bottle that is made out of thick plastic a little thicker than a ziplock bag maybe in a 250ml size to hold liquor with a belt clip that would clip inside your pants. Would be useful to sneak beverages such a liquor into college football games etc..

Just bring an empty bottle and fill it up in a water fountain! That water is usually held to a higher standard then the bottled water you buy and if for some strange reason you have a problem with the taste or something, you can always use a bottle with a built in carbon filter (though those are kind of annoying too!).

I thought I saw a set like this in Bed Bath & Beyond. It was technically for makeup and stuff, but you could fill teh containers with any liquid, including water.

Besides, I think it would be a pain to have like 3-4 small containers and have to fish them all out of my bag to find and drink. I think I'd rather just spend the $3 for a normal water bottle.

Besides, when you're on the plane you get a small cup of water for free...

These exist...I certainly would not take time to fill tiny individual bottles with beverages...might also be suspisious if you had 6 tiny same liquid bottles. Instant trip to the dude with the latex gloves!

if its solid plastic, freezing is not possible

the rule that you have to throw away your bottle is one you have to deal with they do it to make money its a money thing

like above they change rules and your out of business

every airport has water fountains and once you board the flight you have drinks given to you

i used to work in the airlines id hate to see one go thru an engine after falling out of a bag i could se the headline 5 dollar bottle wrecks 5 million dollar engine

id just use the water fountain there antibacterial !

I'd like to see them in a BPA-free sort of vinyl that is flat before you put water in it, and I'd like to have it have a clip, that you could clip a few if you were biking, or hiking, to your belt or backpack, or even luggage. This would cut down on packaging too, I'd like to see the wide mouth be a solid, with a lid that is attatched, so as not to lose it. I'd also like to see it come in a larger size, and for both, I'd also like to be able to freeze it.

Like your thinking, but I've never been quite that thirsty to worry about having a drink bottle that small. Ben brings up what I see as a better way to go. . .almost like a compartmentalized water bottle. . .

Yeah, not necessary. As Ann Marie points out, you can just carry an empty bottle through, and refill it once you are in. Not to mention that probably in a couple years, liquid screening technology will be advanced enough that the whole process will be unnecessary...
