My idea is a padlock that has a built in finger or thumb scanner that opens the lock instead of a key or a combination.

Submitted by: Rick Perea

The Description

We have all used padlocks. Some are combinations and some have keys. There is nothing more frustrating than loosing the key or forgetting the combination to a lock when you need to get what ever you have locked away. Having a finger scanner on a lock is a simple fix. With todays technology we could easily have a finger scan pad that could hold three sets of prints so that a husband and wife or a group of employees could have access to what ever is being locked without having to make a set of keys or pass out a combination. I think you can see how wonderful this product could be.

The Customer

I could see multiple sectors of consumers buying this product. Once the fundamentals of the locking mechanism is established this could be used for lockers, bikes, storage sheds, tool closets.... The list goes on and on anyone who needs to lock something away is a possible consumer.

Key Features

  • Finger scanner instead of a key or combination

Product Comparison

  • Finger scanners are used on computers, wall safes and even in car and home door locks, but no one has a finger scanner in a pad lock this is where we are unique
