Most people insert standard toothpicks to raise aluminum or plastic wraps off the surface of foods when wrapping leftovers. But the toothpick's pointed design isn't conducive to the task. When using plastic wrap or aluminum foil to wrap leftovers, it's best to not have it come into contact with the food.
