I want to plug a SINGLE item into my wall outlet but the outlet is facing the wrong way. I would like to have a single adapter that I can plug into ONE of the two outlets that rotates (and locks into position) so that I can plug in an item any direction I need.

I do NOT want to change out my outlet. They do make versions of outlet adapters with multiple rotating plugs (see posted links below, 2 and 4 plug versions). I do NOT want one of these types of adapters. I do NOT want to add a short corded power strip to the outlet as I don't want it hanging off the wall. I just want to add one single rotating pass thru adapter to my existing two plug outlet.

A single 3-Prong pass thru power adapter that plugs into an outlet that allows you to rotate the plug so that you can plug in appliances like hair dryers with power brick style plugs or other items that would benefit from facing a different direction in the existing outlet.

Potential Questions:
Q: Would this pull out of the wall outlet when something is plugged into it.
--A.: I honestly don't know and it will probably depend on the final design but they make single, non-rotating 3-prong adapters that people have used for years. I have used them as well and never really had an issue with them pulling out.

Q: Will this cause items to stick out too far from the wall.
--A: In certain instances, yes. However, not any more so than the 4-plug adapters that you can plug into a 2-plug outlet or a single 3-prong adapter. In the instances where I really see this being useful, I see plugging in an item, like my hair dryer, using the appliance and then unplugging it.
