Recap:
We all have tons of pens lying around, mostly occupying often used drawers, or being stacked in some sort of funny cup-like holder… Either way it’s a messy gang, most of them being cheap (usually promotional) biros, many of them dried up.
To help maintain an overview of this Pen-o-mania, the disPENser is an outcome. It’s no more than a thin (plastic or cardboard?) container, holding the pens in a neat orderly vertical fashion. The pens are stacked on top of eachother, and when needed, you just grab the bottom one. When finished writing, put the pen back at the top, and this way all pens are used through time, instead of only the ones being nearby.

Now here's a form I didn't expect, great out-of-the-box design. I think this might do good in the next idea-round, so be sure to upload it for the next contest too.
For those interested to add some more designs, I think the overall requirements would be:
- a way to always have a pen nearby when you need one
- a way of circulating the pens, so older ones get used too
- a way to have hide the pens from sight

wouldn't this be too expensive a solution and a waste of space for organizing pens...add a grandiose feature that relates to the pens...like, have the stool open up into a drafting board with a place to put paper.
maybe it's more like a desk caddy?
I like the stool, but as I recall this design-phase is for a pen-disPENser... not for stools? Maybe you thought you were enlisting an idea into the idearound?
I love the concept. My brain would like it more if I saw things on the shelves.
