Concept 2
This concept is made of a flexible plastic. Its design features two holes at the top for the earbud cords to slide through, and a hole at the bottom for the jack cord to slide through. While you listen to your music, it can sit in the middle of your cord. When you want to wrap it up, you pull the cord from the center of the Wrapster and wrap it around horizontally. It features a clip on its side for easy attachment to pockets, clothing, bags, etc..

Show AllI see this design as being more movable and stable where it is clipped. I was thinking of clipping it to my tabs on my jeans. I just can't think of where the other design would be comfortable and attractive to me. I was hoping for something a little more aesthetic in the end. You show the drop down into the shirt, which works great if you are a guy, but most women wear bras and depending on their neckline height (women wear lower neckline fashions) a dangle style would poke into the bra creating an unflattering and possibly uncomfortable configuration. This design would also function as a clip even without earbuds, making it multifunctional.
@Jennifer: i would like to understand your concern more. My design clips to blouses and shirts without pockets. The Quirky design may not even clip at all, and if it does, it is way more obvious and protrudes, also between your girls. So I am nut sure why you prefer the Quirky design based on functionality. My design also allows you to move the product out of sight, away from your girls, whilst the Quirky design will always have to rest between your girls.
And if I was wearing a blouse, I definitely wouldn't want earbud wires dangling between the 'girls' if you know what I mean when I took them out of my ears so it's really a no-go for the stick design for women I think.
The clip functionality here is crucial (most womens shirts don't have pockets) so I'll have to go with this design.
Thanks Matthew for the video. It really helps to see the pluses and minuses of each design. I the like small shape of this concept and how the cord is suspended inside the loop. Also like the easy to use clip, I'm am concerned about the sloppiness of the cord wind, the storage of the jack and possible cord strain if I put the whole thing in my pocket.
I have taken the liberty to compare my understanding of both proofs-of-concept in a demo video. Some of you may not have seen the video of my second prototype, so i have included it in this clip.
I like this much better than the original bracelet design. I think it's very "wearable" for me, assuming the thickness is less than half an inch. Is that right? The render makes it look a little chunky, but if it's only 2 inches tall, then it must be thinner than it looks in the pic.
This looks cool. But my concerns:
(1) this no longer clips to the wrist or MP3 player
(2) it is not designed to clip-on while listening, or if it is, it will stick out from the body
(3) how to secure the cord after it is wrapped is not clear if you "you pull the cord from the center of the Wrapster and wrap it around horizontally."
(4) and if it is wrapped as the drawing indicates, it seems one must pop out the earbuds, then wrap, then pop the earbuds back in.
But I am mostly speculating. Because this is just a drawing, not a prototype, the proof of concept is not clear. I plan to make my own prototype and post a video shortly so we can all understand how this version might function in the real world.
I like this concept the best, what is its thickness and will it be available in a variety of colors ?
@Jen I'm with you, how flexible is this thing if it's body also works as a clip?
