Branding: Logo Design

Click ‘N Cook: The Essential Utensil is one hot product! Let’s give it a hot logo, quirks! Who can help? Remember:

The utensil attachments fit into a table top rolodex-style device. These roll forward and back in the caddy. Stick the tool’s handle into the desired utensil attachment’s base to form new kitchen tools with a simple click.

I think the L, I , and K in the word Click are too tall. If they could be reduced to the size of the Cs, that may result in a more streamlined "handle" for the spatula.

I like this design because it implies the function (though I agree with the "no spatula" camp). I would like to see a better integration of the "N" though.

I personally like the yellow & orange version.
( no spatula head please) I just don't think it's necessary.
'coz the "k" of click is already shape like a spatula head.
If you can play out the idea from words, why put more graphics?
    Simple is the best =)

also that spatula head remind me of flash light somehow =P
but yeah, good job on that. Love the color & font use.

I agree with the heaviness Eric is talking about with the weight of the head. I really like this logo though- it's really strong!

@ Joshua - yes, I agree....Quirky could make a few changes to allow designers chances to redo and easily upload those new versions w/o sacrificing an official entry. Most designers have 2-3 or more design concepts floating in their heads but with time ticking and the phase coming to a close it's not easy to develop and make changes for more feedback.

As far as the spatula goes, I think having the other side of the name - The C in Click being orange helps out the balance but perhaps the spatula head could be slightly reduced or not extend out as much to take away the heavy feel.

I was also thinking the same about inset text on the spatula head and a raised text for click would look great but again, time and allowance for review and feedback gets in the way. Quirky should grab the top picks and have a final review/voting after a couple of days of tweaking by the designers. Some previous Quirky logos could have used as such.

Maybe if this design gets chosen we can have the Quirky staff setup a quick 1 day or so round 2 of logo design to choose between the various versions of this logo and color options.

I understand the spatula head relating the logo more to the product, but it really does make it a lot heavier than the other version. Maybe, the word "cook" could be more the shape of the head so that it doesn't have the weight of that huge solid field. I'm not saying it's not good to incorporate the product. I'm just saying that I think the first version is more dynamic.
