It has very nice form and a lot of potential but I agree with the others who have posted that it needs to able to deal with the squishier poo that often comes out of our dogs.

must be able to do a lot of changes. must be able to put in one of the common green dog waste bags once it is picked up by the device. If this can be incorporated and a way to cinch, tie, glue, tape, heat seal, the bad together this would be a WONDERFUL idea. In its current early stages it is simply a Sharper Image/Sky Mall gadget gone wrong. But with some of the things others have mentioned and the ones in the Comment you have yourself a great product. I voted for this one due to the fact that these things may be changed.

Great idea! I'm not an animal owner, but I have multiple sclerosis which makes bending up and down over and over to pick things up from the ground nearly impossible. I lose my balance very easily and come near falling over. With a tool like this, I could easily pick things up in my yard, without having to deal with the grunts and groans of my teenage daughter! I can't wait for Quirky to start selling these! Good luck to you!

Would it be able to pick up more than once? I can see some use for people who find it hard to bend over - particularly seniors and it's healthy for them to have pets. I'm unsure what the demand would be.

I see poo sticking to the prongs, starting to dry, the poo not coming off of the prongs and going into the trash easily and when you pick it up what makes it stick on the prongs? Are you closing up the lid that you step on to flip open? I have a huge dog...his poos are huge and he goes at least twice every walk. I have two doggies and I don't see carrying this on our walks or its use being very convenient. Also, I pick up poo using the plastic bags from our grocery store so I have something really cheap to use. Sorry...just my honest opinion.

This might work with a retractable leash attached as well!

Hmm, creative but would people actually want to carry this around? You're already holding the leash with one hand, and would have to carry this with the other hand. Too much to carry imho.

I still like this, Michael. Any thought to the removable or disposable base portion so there is one less part to clean? Good luck!

After the umpteenth time I stepped in it, I thought of an idea for waste removal that was mostly from other neighbor's dogs.
Make a wrap around textured sheath for a lawn roller that has the same textured pattern as most sneakers. Roll it around your yard and it will gather up all the poop in all its nooks and crannies. Then roll it to the neighbors yard and hose it off! :-D

This could work! Have a button at the top that ejects the entire pick up apparatus and you just snap on a new one!! Cool!
