If you've ever had to clean your gutters like most home owner's do, you probably realized how frustrating this job is. The problem is you can only reach out an arms length at a time from the ladder. This job is aggravating as the user must climb and descend the ladder numerous times to reposition it along the house in order to complete the task. The inability to reach out further while standing on a ladder makes this job much more time consuming and dangerous then it needs to be.

This product was in UC a while back and the feedback I received from Quirky leads me to believe they just didn't understand this tool's benefit. On a recent resubmit, this product received 253 votes with a view/vote ratio of over 79% I can tell the community understood the benefits and usefulness but I'm not so sure Quirky did. Quirky staff stated: "Although the tool solves a problem, not all roofs have a steep pitch" This feedback does not make any sense to me! The pitch of the roof is irrelevant! The Gutter Rake Snake benefits the user by saving time and dramatically reduces the work load. It eliminates the need to constantly run up and down the ladder to reposition it. (less fatigue and much safer) Regardless of the roof pitch, the user still has to climb and descend a ladder numerous times to clean their gutters! Even a home with a flat roof (very uncommon) would benefit from this tool)There are comparable products designed to clean gutters from the ground. If you've ever tried using them (as I have) you will immediately realize they are useless. First of all, you cannot see into the gutter from the ground (it's kind of difficult to clean something you can't see) These products include shop vac attachments which constantly get clogged with clumped leaves at the nozzle. They also lose suction power from the long extension tube. The same holds true for leaf blower attachments. Both of these devices require long heavy extensions that are difficult to balance and maneuver 10-20 ft in the air. They both lose power and are very ineffective in getting the job done right. (read reviews online) The Gutter grabber is a poorly designed product. Just watching the demo video tells me it is very limited and ineffective and as I mentioned early...you still can't see into the gutter while working from the ground. Please see video of my prototype. This tool is quite unique in it's category, as it is the only one of it's kind that can be slipped "under" the gutter hangers. This feature has a crucial benefit as it allows long lengths to be cleared out from a single ladder position. This tool allows you to work from both sides. If the tool was to be manufactured to be 16 ft, it would allow the user to clean out 32 ft. of gutters in less than 5 minutes! I am confident that this product is like no other on the market. It will make the dreaded task of gutter cleaning maintenance so much easier and will benefit so many home owners. I am working on a newer version prototype with webbing attached between each fin. This feature will keep the fins from bending backwards on wet, matted decomposing debris, and also speed up the process even more by trapping more debris with every pass.
