Most folks don't have a wine cellar - in fact, many of us only have a couple of bottles around until we throw a party. Most wine racks are purchased by size - depending on how many wine bottles we usually have on hand. But if our wine bottle count fluctuates from zero to 12, it makes it difficult to choose which size rack to buy.
Purchasing a small wine rack, (2-4 bottles) leaves you wanting when its time to throw a party. But purchasing a larger rack to hold up to a dozen bottles is overkill when your stock gets down to just a bottle or two. Besides, a large wine racks takes up too much valuable counter space.
If ONLY there was a wine rack that could hold up to a dozen bottles for the party, but then collapses as your wine stock gets used up - freeing up that precious counter space.
Well, with Quirky's new "Collapsible Wine Rack" you have three wine racks in one! With all three sections open, it holds a healthy 12 bottles of wine. But as your stock goes down to 8, "section one" closes - freeing up counter space. When you reach only four bottles, "section two" collapses and more space is opened up. Should you drink the last drop, and "section three" is empty, the whole wine rack collapses for easy storage.
Imagine - this wine rack folds from over 30 INCHES WIDE to just 6 INCHES WIDE when fully closed!
The enclosed pictures show just the plain concept - (as I've said before, I'm practical but not an artist). So I'm hoping you will apply your imaginations to this general concept and add your creative ideas to the mix. I think the Quirky design team could have fun with this one too!
By the way; should you have more than 12 bottles, buy two - you'll notice that they are stackable!
This product is great for the average wine drinker whose stock fluctuates from a couple of bottles up to a dozen. Who will want this product? ...anyone who wants a wine rack that can accommodate the ups and down of an expanding or contracting wine supply, and that will only take up enough space on the counter to get the job done.
