Product Design: Design | Features
Here are a few features we propose adding to the sling design, given our internal research, as well as the research you provided us with.
Its important that we not only have cool designs / patterns printed on a sling.. but design a cooler/better sling all together.
Please rate the different features, as well as vote for your two favorites.
RECAP OF BRIEF:
A lot of people break their arms, and are required to wear slings. The problem with these slings is that they are boring, only the color blue ? Why can’t there be a pink sling for girls ? or a Powerpuff Girls Sling for young girls ?
Sling Stories are slings with pictures on how you got your injury, like falling down the stairs, saving a princess from an evil monster, rescuing a drowning kitten, or being a victim of Dick Cheney and other cool stuff.
These will be sold in hospitals and drug stores. Parents will buy these for their kids to make them feel better. Kids will love it, because they could show it off to their classmates and be a hero.
Injured people who wear slings, wear it for weeks or even months, give them something fashionable, something funny, something wearable

Show AllThis idea would not work as different breaks of the arm require different casts. Some casts finish at the wrist whilst some carry on to nearly the fingers which means the fingers cannot be moved. Some people would be able to use this function and some would not as there fingers are pretty much set in place. This also takes away ease of movement and the use of the fingers which are the only thing most people can still use to resume everyday normal activity. I do not think this is a good idea.
I don't see any practical benefit to this in function or style.
Make the finger joints removable so it can be cleaned
Remember that some people have bigger fingers than others.. must be stretchy or a bunch of ring-hoops and a feeding strap that can adjust to different thicknesses
Make enough finger holders to rest ALL fingers, as that might appeal to long-time wearers
This could be a loop in the material, like this:
