Grip Bar
Project Complete!
Product Design: Design | Features
Here are a few features we propose adding to the sling design, given our internal research, as well as the research you provided us with.
Its important that we not only have cool designs / patterns printed on a sling.. but design a cooler/better sling all together.
Please rate the different features, as well as vote for your two favorites.
RECAP OF BRIEF:
A lot of people break their arms, and are required to wear slings. The problem with these slings is that they are boring, only the color blue ? Why can’t there be a pink sling for girls ? or a Powerpuff Girls Sling for young girls ?
Sling Stories are slings with pictures on how you got your injury, like falling down the stairs, saving a princess from an evil monster, rescuing a drowning kitten, or being a victim of Dick Cheney and other cool stuff.
These will be sold in hospitals and drug stores. Parents will buy these for their kids to make them feel better. Kids will love it, because they could show it off to their classmates and be a hero.
Injured people who wear slings, wear it for weeks or even months, give them something fashionable, something funny, something wearable

Show AllI don't really see the bar thing. Also, it would cause trouble at Airports and other places where security systems would just go crazy if they saw a bar like that.
However, I can see the idea of having something to do with that hand. Why not having something to grip on to like a relax/anti-stress ball you can use to exercise your hand?
I really don't think this idea is needed, people want to use what little use of the hand they have left to try and get on with normal life (even whilst in the sling) so having this bar in the way would not be benefit added. It would also confuse people when they see it in the shop as to what it is used for and they may be tempted to get a simpler sling. Also adds to the cost which might price some buyers out of the market.
I don't understand the purpose of a grip bar...grips maaaybe, but not the bar thingy....$$$$$
I agree with Nicolas. If stiffness option is to be added, it's better to add a removable cardboard or some sort of surface under the arm (between layers) rather than the handle. If the person using this is not wearing a cast, the handle could be very uncomfortable.
Cant see the handle bit working out, it is in the way for doing anything else with that hand
