wide strap
Project Complete!
Here are a few form factors we propose adding to the sling design, given our internal research, as well as the research you provided us with.
Its important that we not only have cool designs / patterns printed on a sling.. but design a cooler/better sling all together.
Please rate the different forms, as well as vote for your two favorites.
RECAP OF BRIEF:
A lot of people break their arms, and are required to wear slings. The problem with these slings is that they are boring, only the color blue ? Why can’t there be a pink sling for girls ? or a Powerpuff Girls Sling for young girls ?
Sling Stories are slings with pictures on how you got your injury, like falling down the stairs, saving a princess from an evil monster, rescuing a drowning kitten, or being a victim of Dick Cheney and other cool stuff.
These will be sold in hospitals and drug stores. Parents will buy these for their kids to make them feel better. Kids will love it, because they could show it off to their classmates and be a hero.
Injured people who wear slings, wear it for weeks or even months, give them something fashionable, something funny, something wearable

Show AllNever broke an arm, but I remember having a backpack with thin straps that always cut into the shoulders. Keeping the strap wide and padded or possibly a breathable soft material would help the comfort level.
This is the best idea in my opinion, it looks comfy and a wide strap would distribute the load better. As others have said it also gives more room for the art-work/colours to come through which will be the main reason a childs parent is buying the design.
Definitely the wider the better - better yet distribute the weight over both shoulders
Again, you may want mesh or very breathable material around the neck/top shoulder areas for hot summer use. I like this design the best for comfort and message imprint. This would be great to make in solid colors or with a pattern with a white area for people to take down to the local T-Shirt shop or use the HP T-Shirt iron-on printers sheets. They could put their own personal message or photo of the accident or of their pet etc. on it.
I think teens are pretty open to new ideas/designs, especially if they're ergonomically/technically superior.
I don't think I have ever seen anyone wearing a sling who looked comfy. Now this is a comfy looking sling in function and purpose and likely the most cost effective of the weight displacing designs I have seen. Thanks.
looks comfy but definitely nothing a teenager would wear. You get more room for the story but it covers up all your fashion and style.
I agree with Shawnee. A wide strap will distribute the load better and add to comfort. And more canvas = more fun!
The best thing about this ideation (is that what we're calling these things?) is that it would facilitate the sling "stories", like having a bigger canvas. If we're making a sling to be a fashion accessory, pictures, etc. will be a big selling point and draw attention to the brand. Also, I think there would be a benefit to reducing strain from having the wider strap; we want the slingy to be as comfy as possible.
ignore my comments on the load is on the wrong shoulder; my wifes a nurse and corrected me
