Influence / Ouch Pouch / Design | Form / Idea 626
Molded Sleeve
Project Complete!
Here are a few form factors we propose adding to the sling design, given our internal research, as well as the research you provided us with.
Its important that we not only have cool designs / patterns printed on a sling.. but design a cooler/better sling all together.
Please rate the different forms, as well as vote for your two favorites.
RECAP OF BRIEF:
A lot of people break their arms, and are required to wear slings. The problem with these slings is that they are boring, only the color blue ? Why can’t there be a pink sling for girls ? or a Powerpuff Girls Sling for young girls ?
Sling Stories are slings with pictures on how you got your injury, like falling down the stairs, saving a princess from an evil monster, rescuing a drowning kitten, or being a victim of Dick Cheney and other cool stuff.
These will be sold in hospitals and drug stores. Parents will buy these for their kids to make them feel better. Kids will love it, because they could show it off to their classmates and be a hero.
Injured people who wear slings, wear it for weeks or even months, give them something fashionable, something funny, something wearable

It will work better on a soft, or medium-hard material; considering that not many people is going to be interested in carrying around a shoe box.
You can consider three sizes: Adult, Infant and Child; but what about if they are also resizable? let's take as an example the rubber carpets for the Cars, lately most of them have a cutting pattern to make it fit to your car's floor. Think about the difference in arm length for a 5'8, compared to a 6'2 tall guy.
Padding around the neck sounds awesome, but if you use regular cloth or fabric, the sweat will make it wet and uncomfortable after awhile. So you can consider to use a material that is water-repellent, that can even be used in the shower, and easy to clean.
A small Pocket will be too much? probably not, considering that they can't reach their opposite pant's pocket.
I like the minimalist design here. To me the Ouch Pouch is an accessory, not a life preserver. Just use good materials for the strap, and it'd done.
I like the arm part of it but not the strap that connect it, can the strap near the hand just connect up to the sling?
Is the neck section padded? It should be.
If this is going to be a hard case rather than soft, maybe it's best to keep the angled side open for freedom of movement.
will this be flexible enough to fit all sizes of casts.. because depending on the injury they cast different lengths up the arm.
