My bag falls off all the time, and I'm not a crazy driver either :)

I like the idea of having a slide out "shelf" of sorts from the center console to the passenger seat. It could be a place to rest the bag, or secure the handles over.

I kind of like the concept. But I must admit that my car does have a hanger for bags or jackets, and I keep leaving my bag on the passenger seat.
However, I've seen lately a couple of things like this. My boss just showed me the other day a device like this to hang her suit jackets that she also uses for her bag when there is somebody at the passenger seat. I'll try to find out who sells this and will let you know, just for reference. She just told me it was quite difficult to find something like this, and that she found out about it from a taxi driver in Madrid.

I think its a great idea, my bag always falls off the passenger seat. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

This is a great idea and a nifty gift for female drivers (or even men).

I can relate to the need of this product co'z this has always been my problem. First, when I'm driving, I'd like to make sure my handbag is within reach, in order for me to get whatever I need inside easily and anytime, even if there's someone in the passengers seat. Second, I don't like to put my handbag on the floor co'z it might be dirty and leave a permanent mark on my bag.

I suggest a net like material, for it flexibility on the shape or size of the handbag, having a universal standard length and width size that can be hung on any glove compartment of a car. The handle of the net like material is thin, made out of hard but bendable board sewn on the net as handle and at the bottom of the net to protect bag from dirt and scratches when it touches the bottom floor of the car.

A velcro like material that is sewn in to the product will be used to to attach or detach it from the glove compartment.

When a female driver rides the car, she will open the glove compartment attach the product with the handbag in it. Then close the glove compartment, leaving the net with the bag hanging or in place.

Since the net is flexible, the driver does not need to open the glove compartment to get something from the bag, just need to open the mouth of the net. The only time the glove compartment is opened is when the driver will go down the car and will take out the handbag with her, leaving the net behind, till she rides the car again.

Note: this can also be hung on a headrest. depends on the need to access the handbag.

    I would call it: Hangbag.

Tagline: The glove that holds the bag or It's within your reach.

This is a good lead to a much-needed concept. Unfortunately, there's good reason why there's not something on the market: driver safety and automotive regulations.

From the experience I had in automotive interior design, I would encourage this be a product that utilizes the instrument panel, door panel or storage area between the front seats.

Perhaps a product that converts to a hook once attached to the air flow vent. The weight of the purse keeps it stable. The length between may be used for something creative, too.

This idea is my favorite, to Kevin's point, dead simple. I'll be damned if my gorgeous bag gets put on the floor in my car! I have a pursehook (http://www.thepursehook.com/photos/silver/silver6065-zoom.jpg) for my bag when I go to restaurants, because I don't want it on the floor. I'd love a small hook to hold my purse in the front seat. That's not to say that the purse can't be set on the seat but kept in place with a hook looped around head rest. It would be great if the lanyard had an adjustable device on it, so that it could be made longer or shorter depending on the size and weight of your bag. It doesn't have to be a hook either, it could be a caribiner type device for safety.

As a woman, with a lovely purse, I'd buy this in a second.

This is a great idea! When a passenger sits in the front seat of my car I never know where to place my bag so I have easy access when I need it.

Maybe something that would hold the bag on the console side of the passenger seat, making the bag easy to grasp.

Consider using an "S type hook available at most hardware stores. Attach to the passenger seat headrest post and hang your bag on it.
