I like the criteria your working from. I like the versatility of use in this product. I'd encourage exploring the aesthetics of this product, to where it resembles the clean that it's function proves.
There are a few versions of this type of thing already available in Japan - mostly made from thin sheets of stainless steel or wire which have a more hygienic feel to them. There is a need for these products but they have to be very well designed from aesthetic, practical, hygienic and cost points of view.
Good idea. I'd design the product to have an option for magnets. The design of the product is key...... If you could do what METHOD has done for dish soap you'll have a winner.
Design deep enough to hold the tools such that when you attach to a door you don't loose any of the contents...opening and closing the door. Many of these have little or no depth rendering them all but a latter day garage sale item.
I like the idea of organizing and sanitizing, but how can you patent a basket, with maybe a fan attached to it, seems easy for people to duplicate on their own.
I have a modified version of what you're proposing - mine has a built-in soap dispenser. The suction cups are a good idea, however.
It's really a matter of having space for this type of unit. Also, with kids in the house - if you put it IN the sink, then they will just pile dishes all over it...

I really don't see how this is different from anything else on the market. Not a bad idea but why would someone buy yours?

Actually it is funny that your computer keyboard is far more dirtier than your toilet seat and sink (unless you don't clean it).
Yes it is more of a DIY since it would be way cheaper than if we made the actual product. Not saying that no one would buy it though :D
OH BTW, Great Idea on the PDF !! You should get points just for the Pdf ! If only everyone did that, things here would be awesome :D

This seems easy for most DIY savvy people to make themselvesi if they wanted to.

A web based app (with mobile extension) would be best. Access to all programmable end units on a single GUI as well.
