I see people sticking their arms out and taking pictures all the time. I'm not sure why anyone would need this item for everyday usage. The xshotpix.com link and product pretty much covers all the other needs as well as current camera stands and devices.

This is just the sort of thing that quirky would pick as well.

Not willing to put your arm out sounds lazy. The pitch for the produce needs to be better. So does the functionality - make it not just about taking pictures of yourself, but some sort of case which allows the iphone to be stabilized, maybe even magnify the lens, etc. Make it something truly innovative and you've got something.

Quirky is a place where you talk about your ideas for a product, not just, "THIS IS WHAT I WANT, NOW MAKE IT."

Michel's and Joao's comments are good. There seems to be a similar product(s) out there.
