    A Spoon taped to a Pen. How to take that idea to the next level and help small business and organizations grow.

    The Description

    Several times when going to small stores I have noticed that the pen used to sign the receipt with has a spoon taped to it, and even the last time I went to the doctor, the pen that I filled out my information with had a tongue stick taped to it as well. When looking at these situations I wonder why, and also what can I do to improve on this basic and unappealing concept.

    The Customer

    My solution is simple, First it has to accomplish the same purpose than the spoon, or the flower, or the tongue stick have, which is to avoid having the pen stolen or lost. And above that, I wanted to add a little more to it to help the small businesses and organizations grow. Based on the facts that about 50% of our national GDP comes from small business, that 78% of employer firms in the United States have less than 10 employees (small businesses), and that many of these small organizations lack a formal marketing plan, I designed a small pen attachment that has similar size than a spoon but it could also be used to advertised services or products offered. It is inspired on the hard plastic badge holder and it will hold one add which can be changed as many times as needed by the business. There is also a possibility to have a mobile or webapp created which can help the business design these small ads so they have a professional look. On the images attached you will see some of my research and how I picture this "Pen AdBoard" to look and work.

    I carry a small brush/mirror in my purse. Love it if the brush handle/head were hollow, snapping open/shut for storage of beauty essentials.

    The Problem

    Limited space and bulkiness of carrying around your purse and make up case.

    The Solution

    A hollowed brush would allow storage for small items like mascara, lipstick, eyeliner that are usually found in your make up case, lessening the space required in your purse. You could just take your brush to the ladies, with your beauty essentials stored inside and mirror on outside of head.

    The Problem

    Lots of solutions for chopping vegetables. All have the same technique - new ways to use blades. Today's world is ready for more, the Kitchen Laser Chopper. No more smelly hands, no more onion tears.

    The Solution

    Is it doable? This Instructables link shows a method of cutting stencils using common parts you have available. A Kitchen chopper would be more complex, but would involve some of the same technology. http://www.instructables.com/id/Laser-cutter-start-slicing-stuff-for-under-50-dol/?ALLSTEPS The key issue is that the chopper would need to be programmed to handle 3-D, and would work best if it also incorporated a scanner to determine precise shapes. Best of all, it would permit precision that is not available in common choppers, food processors, and knives. With no knife, and removable, washable inserts, it would allow for the veggies to be cut easily without risks of contamination. This could use App technology to program size and to give info on materials being cut. With scanner technology, could even be programmed to peel as well as chop. Is this overkill for something simple we all do? Or is it an appliance for the kitchen of the future?

    not solving a problem but providing something different.

    The Solution

    created a protector case with an external battery pack just like the Mophie Juicepack that will run the LED's without consuming the battery of the phone. and give your smartphone a boost when needed. you can perhaps make the LED lights App enabled. I own a robot ball called "Sphero" and i control its movement through a bluetooth connection and the app, but i can also change the color of the ball to about 400 colors through the app as well. being able to change the color of the LED's would eliminate comsumers from buying multiple cases to match specific outfits. and enable us to mark up pricing just a bit.
