3-D measuring box that helps people understand how big a furniture, elliptical are going to occupy, or fit in elevator, hallways etc
You'll see a big checkbox to an idea, click it and you've voted. Further, you can go in and suggest changes to the idea to make it better. Super easy - just hover over the part you want to edit, and click the button with the pencil icon.
In this project, we want you to submit sketches, images, videos, and other visuals that illustrate design directions for the 3D Measuring Box. We'll use the top concepts as a starting point for our final design sketches.

Show AllGreat space planning idea! Congrats. Make it untechnical and we have a winner.
Take a look at my "digital tape measure", similar concept to yours except 2D, helps to visualize how much area a rug would take up or a painting on the wall - http://www.quirky.com/ideations/226822 - would love some feedback.
I have some ideas on how to implement in 3D, will post them soon, excited to see others who are having the same problem!
Cool idea.
Congratulation!
I like the idea.
Great idea!
i like it great idea best of luck

Maybe the use of lasers or infrared could accomplish this. You could put "markers" on the corners of the furniture (or whatever) and the infrared scanner will "connect-the-dots" and calculate volume.
i think you should make a long lightbulb that you in insert deminsions into then it emits a light according to the deminsions you input.
how do you think this will play out? Do you plan to use augmented reality glasses, camera cell phone, or a giant physical box that changes shape?
I owned a moving service for 2 years and that would have been killer!! It was the hardest job ever! Great luck to the inventor, I love it!
