Cable Caps are customized covers that help protect, organize, and add flair to your USB cables.
The “head” of each Cable Cap is a funky, unique character with a built-in slot to receive a standard-sized USB cable. Its “body” is a stretchable band that can be used to tie up the actual cord. With a Cable Cap around it, your cable is tightly, compactly secured.
We've got six Cable Cap characters, sold in sets of three, for you to collect: Printer Man, Phone Dude, Camera Gal, Eye Baller, Egg Man, and 'Da Bulb. Give each of your USB cables a different character for easy identification and cord management -- you’ll never have to fumble around with unidentified, knotted cords again!

I think some more work could be done on character development. I'm not sure what a couple of them are. The original monsters were more appealing - other than the eyeball. I do like that one. One thing I wanted was a way to identify cords that were not in use - meaning a place to put both ends.

alan.. there are 497 people who have influence in the cable caps. Unfortunately, penny rounding makes it look otherwise. Rest assured, all who participated / influenced will get paid, and it will add up in scale.

I think this may be the first time the renders do more harm than good. All those smiling faces and muted colors make these look like infant's toys. Kinda a downer to see that the last person on the top influencers list makes a grand total of $0.00 per item sold. I know its not an expensive item, but to know only 4 people are making more than a penny per Caple Cap sold kinda makes me wonder why so much effort is put into these things...

I don't know if this has been mentioned before as I am only quickly looking through but how about a blank label on them so you can write which device they go to. save having to run each one back to its source to find the right one you need. Some people tend to have a lot and they just fall down behind the pc when not being used. Or maybe come in a pack with all different colours to help identification.

I think the best part about this product is that we can keep adding sets if they are popular. Not much work just some submissions of more designs and you have an expandable product line.

I want them to either look like a camera, mp3, video cam, etc. or have little spaces to write on so I can remember which cord goes to which device in my stack. That is of course, while making them cute.

I'm sure there is a market for these, if only for the cuteness - especially for those who collect. I have a couple of friends who love anything 'pink flamingo' , one who collects aliens, and several cat and dog lovers. I think theme sets would be a great way to promote these. I am British, and can already see a set of characters, ie: policeman, beefeater, Scotsman , barrister etc. OR post box, phone box, Big Ben, double decker bus. The marketing possibilities are endless. It would definately be a plus if they included a cord wrap. I think the way they are packaged will dictate the price point. I know I'd pay a lot more to get a set in a nice case than I would if buying them individually. Good luck . I hope this product goes ahead.

i was struck by the thought that tere could be "male" and "female" versions of these. the ones above are female and are for cord ends. i also have tons of USB ports in various devices with the little plastic door broken off; a molded "male" unit would plug those little buggers up and keep sand and such out of the sensitive ports.

I think glow in the dark set is a great idea, go with the "collect them all" idea, and if they each have their own catchy names it will make it more personal, you will target a younger market. With an older market I would change the wording (more witty) and colours make them less cute, still the same principle.

Sorry, I just don't understand the purpose of these. If it's just to be cute, OK I guess. But cables are annoying enough without having to pop off an endcap, push its tether out of the way, then plug it in. It just adds a couple steps to the hassle.

Heat Sensing Resin https://www.inventables.com/technologies/heat-sensing-plastic this type of plastic resin can be useful too. We never know whether USB cable get heat up (due to malfunction on connection etc or heat from the PC/ consumer electronic) this give us indication whether our product is having problem. IT can also be purely for decoration since the heat from the devices can be utilized ... blue when it is not working....Red when you plug it in and the cable is working.

Hopefully this have been thought of. The cap should have living hinge mechanism. This prevent user from losing the cap. it can also having variants that is sleeve like design, when you need to use the USB connector, you pull the cap down to the wires portion...when you don't want to use it....pull it up. air lock like sealing can be used if we want to avoid dust/ moisture/ water attack the connector.
