Make CableHeads work harder. My printers, my scanners, and my hard drives all have different power supplies and power cables.I currently color each device and their power cables with acrylic paint..one color for each device. Confuse your power supply cables and you're in for a frustrating hassle, and if you don't match the power cables correctly right might burn out a device. Also CableHeads are too cute for the home office.(many similar comments) Need something elegant..perhaps a simple colored clip on which you would write the device for each cable end. Or the clips could come with multiple pairs of matching color self adhesive stickers e.g. 5 Hard drives stickers, 3 scanner stickers, 2 audio stickers, 2 monitor stickers 3 printer stickers. This way all cables are identified with a unified look. (Stickers for USV=B cables could read USB Printer etc.(Each clip would have a surface for the self adhesive label.

Marc, I agree with your earlier comment about just small simple caps or rings in a dozen different colors to color code both ends of the same cable in the same color. Tape doesn’t work as it doesn’t make sense to buy 12 different color rolls of tape when I only need 2 inches for each end, paper labels dry up and fall off, and both look sloppy. And the current design is too bulky to use on cable ends that are all jammed up in the back of a desktop. Yet I’m forever trying to guess or remember which USB cable at the back my computer or which Ethernet cable goes to which printer or which device. I could go out and buy 6 different colored Ethernet cables but that’s way more expensive AND USB cables don’t come in a dozen different colors. How ‘bout just a dozen pairs of stretchy rubber sleeves each pair in a different color that slide over a USB or Ethernet or even electric cable so you can easily match the lime green marked cable at the back of the printer to the lime green cord plugged into your computer or router, without having to trace the entire cable thru the birdnest of cables we all have behind our desks.

this should be a good idea to incorporate into the cableHeads:

this way its easy to color code, add an image ( i suppose these are paperbadges which are inserted).
plus: it looks a little more mainstream.

sad to see em stuck in presale.
the longer i think about it. they should be clean plain kept. and sold in bags of five.

The wrapster was redesigned because it wasn't intuitive enough

well, this product seems a lot less intuitive to me, plus there are design issues.

Looks to me like a redesign may be in order

I'd agree a cleaner, simpler design might help Cable Caps out

maybe this should really be redesigned? still like the idea very much but i think ppl are right about the design. should more "grown-up". right?

I think some more work could be done on character development. I'm not sure what a couple of them are. The original monsters were more appealing - other than the eyeball. I do like that one.

One thing I wanted was a way to identify cords that were not in use - meaning a place to put both ends.

alan.. there are 497 people who have influence in the cable caps. Unfortunately, penny rounding makes it look otherwise. Rest assured, all who participated / influenced will get paid, and it will add up in scale.
