Make your own glass of fresh-squeezed OJ with quirky's JUS!
All you've got to do is press and squeeze a half orange over the juicing top. There's no need for super-human strength -- JUSing is easy for you and your young 'uns! Once squeezed, the juice will drip through the holes of the top piece and collect in the container below. Continue JUSing your oranges until you've collected enough juice for your needs, then detach the top piece and pop on the lid to store away for later consumption… or, enjoy immediately.
Here's what's included:
- Two storage containers, one 42 oz carafe and one 12 oz cup.
- Two lids.
- One reamer, otherwise known as the juicing top.
JUS was designed with the orange juice drinker in mind, but feel free to JUS other citrus fruits like lemons, limes, tangerines, and small grapefruits. JUS is made of dishwasher-safe acrylic and features a grip that wraps around the outside of each container for your juicing ease.

Or you could just buy the sunbeam electric juicer that does the reaming for you in half the time for 15-20 dollars.

There is a company with almost the same logo as this called JUS...is this ok to have this name? I am a big proponent not infringing...

It's really cool, but the price is just way too much for a hand juicer.

Though I think the design is superb and can b e sold, I think the price may be too expensive.

Thank you everyone who made my product a reality, or close to one at least. Hopefully this is just a little pre-sales slump and things will get moving soon enough.

@James- While Id love to agree with you, this is the same thing we've been saying since way back in the Ouch Pouch days, when we realized the hard way that theres just some items that we wont be able to sell somewhere like this website. Retailers more than likely want to see actual products, and what we have here are just concepts until we get them through presales into production. We cant rely on the notion that some big retailer is going to come in and single handedly put a product through presles (DigiDudes had stalled out halfway through presales before Think Geek came in and bought the rest, but I think it would have sold regardless), so its really up to us to get a product moving until theres enough presales to get a prototype out there to be tested in the real world. At that point, if an item seems to get really hot, I wouldnt be surprised to see a hug retailer hop on board and make someone a ton of money. Honestly though, I didnt think this one was going to be one of these presale flops. The trash can and modular shelf idea, sure, but not something as useful and unique as this.

@alan I think once Quirky is able to get retailers on-board with purchasing items from here and placing them on shelves, we'll see the food related products going fast. Right now we are mainly hitting the tech folks who are gadget collectors. I think this, and the TravelStacks, turned out to be beautiful designs. Also, I love the Yogurt By You design...it turned out really nice. I think if we wait long enough, we will see stuff start to move. I think we are creating products now that can compete for shelf space once retailers start paying attention....just my thoughts.

I agree with the choice to make it as it is. Anyone who has ever used a juice reamer would know that the slender carafe that was the original design simply wouldnt have worked. It needs a wide base and a means of holding onto the whole thing with a tight grip, which is what the slender bit at the top accomplishes. I think the extra cup was a really nice touch. While I own a comparable product, I plan on committing to this just for that extra little cup, and the fact that it looks really nice. Im surprised this one isnt flying through presales, its exactly the kind of simple useful product that I thought would thrive here. For some reason, food based ideas just dont seem to do too well here.

I liked Dan's original design much better than the final product. His rotundo design that won in the ID phase was also much nicer than the final product. I had thought the winning design was the one produced, not something vaguely based on it. That being said, I'm still committing to buying, it is awesome. Just not as awesome as Dan's.

I don't know much about this product, but I do know that there is a company named JUS that might already have the name trademarked. Just something that you might want to look into.

Manual juicing requires some decent force. How strong/thick is this glass? I can see this thing shattering as I'm pushing down on an orange to juice it and my arm/wrist being cut majorly as it smashes down to the counter.

I think essentially naming a juicer "juice," and naming ONE stack "travelstackS" is "quirky," to say the least. It's also potentially confusing when there are other products with these names. Allow me to introduce you to any scrapbooker or crafter's "Travel Stack," which you can already find at Michael's, Amazon.com, etc. : http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=sb0863 And here are JUS juicers: http://www.jusmachines.co.nz/ If you want to see some videos showing JUS juicers juicing oranges, just type "JUS juicer" into YouTube's search bar. Can't we choose some unique (not already branded) names that are a bit more descriptive of each product here? Personally, the word "travelstack," to me, conjures up an image of a nested luggage set. And, as other commenters have already indicated, "JUS" isn't all that clear or descriptive either. I just don't get the logic behind choosing names like these.

I had to click on the project to find out what had just been named "JUS". I think its needlessly adding confusion to a good idea, is it pronounced "juice", or like it would be if I was saying "au jus". When I saw it, I pronounced it phonetically, and just couldnt figure out what project it was related to. I dont know, if the name needs to be explained on multiple levels, and doesnt even hint at what kind of product its attached to, then whats the point? If anything, add some umlauts to the "U", because "JÜS" would make things a little easier to understand... that is, if it is even pronounced that way.

@Sassy - Good point. I'll wait for the logo. Thx!

I think the name JUS is really creative. I think having the proper visual image (logo) to go along with it, will really create a strong brand. It's catchy, and something you're likely to remember.
