THey should put "First Generation iPad Cover" in the title. I bought one for my sis-in-law. She has an iPad2...I guess those are smaller than iPad 1 ? but it fits like a sweater that's one size too big...works okay though, just kinda floppy and the flaps that flips out to make it stand are kinda flimsy and held in with a tiny nub. Maybe they could improve this for the next run.

while the stands are a little flimsy my dad loves this, keeps it super protected and has had it on his ipad for a year now with his ipad still in perfect condition.

The rigid plastic parts are under engineered and break soon after using. At least this has been my experience. This is also corroborated in the support forums. I also noticed that Quirky has a quirk about answering their customers immediately ... they don't. So, good luck on getting a response when yours breaks. Hey here's an idea: don't buy it!

I am overall really pleased with the cloak as it fulfills my needs. I mostly wanted something that would protect my iPad whilst it is in my bag at work and also allows me to use the iPad quickly. It is a little on the heavy side but the iPad is easily removed for such as those times when I'm using it as an e-reader.
My biggest praise goes to Quirky though. When by my own clumsyness broke the typing stand I contacted customer support to ask where I could by spares. Even though I purchased my cloak from a company in Australia Quirky sent me spare stands FOC.
My gratitudes to Quirky and most especially Bobby Guizio.

I'm really disppointed by the poor quality of this product. It's already broken a few months after i got it. I can't no more use to type, it's really bad.

I've had the original green cloak since first shipping, and yes, a bit too heavy... 2 weeks ago, i watched in horror as it fell out of my bag and hit the concrete corner first... the pin hinge broke, but the ipad was completely safe. this was the whole reason i bought the cloak in the first place! i'm a clutz! quirky sent new hinges and extra stands... happy =)

I was one of the first to order the Quirky Cloak, waited months for it to arrive, and even though it was a bit on the heavy side, it served me well. However, the case gradually broke apart. The typing ledge was the first to break accidentally. Then my kids tore out the portrait stand. Today the pins to prop up the iPad in landscape mode finally broke. I enjoyed it for the past year, and the case protected my iPad from several accidental falls, and now it's completely broken apart. It was nice while it lasted, but I wished it had lasted longer.

After my cloak broke (cover hinge pins snapped) I'm looking for a new case. I like the function of the cloak, but it's too heavy. I really just want 2 things: a screen cover for in my bag; landscape viewing mode stability. Cloak does both of these things, but adds nearly another iPad's worth of weight. I really want to give 3.5 stars to put it slightly above average.

As most reviews here state, the design is good or even great, although a bit "technical/geeky" - flipping out the stands needs to be done by a 8+ child, so for kids it's better that an adult will handle the case.
Other then that - the case does an excellent job of protection.
the material is strong and feels good to the touch.
I bought the blue and black ones, and they look terrific - everybody keeps asking if this is a new gadget :)

if it was a bit lighter it would have been perfect, but this is one of the better cases I've encountered yet.

Yes, the case is quite heavy, maybe even a little clumsy. However, it is so flexible. You can view or type on the Ipad from almost any position. My 4 year old and 2 year old daughters both play with it daily and the Quirky case does a great job protecting my Ipad from their abuse! I have had this case for well over 6 months now and really have no complaints.
