A Sweeping Improvement In Dustpans

View This Product's Development History

The Broom Groomer is a sweeping improvement in dustpans.

Here is what makes this dustpan so awesome:

- A row of rubber teeth protruding from the back end of the dust pan to clean the broom's bristles when you're done sweeping. No more dust bunnies!

- A foot rest built right into the dustpan handle, so that your foot can steady the dustpan for hands-free sweeping.

The main body of the Broom Groomer is made out of hard, durable plastic, with rubber accents on the handle grip, wall-hanging hole, bristle cleaning teeth, and front edge guard.

I didn't read all of the comments, but it seems as if the marketing on the site is a little misdirected. The pain point of sweeping is more the bending over due to the current design. With this product, that is solved. To me, that is the major selling point, not the rubber comb.

Looking forward to getting this one. Might buy more than one to give as gifts.

The Broom Groomer design phase taught me a Quirky lesson. I had submitted the last minute idea to design an eighth-inch lip to keep dust from falling out. The design change was made, but I only received 0.02% influence for an idea I consider to be an important design feature. Not sure I'll be submitting more ideas.

I think this is a great idea. :D Maybe it's just me, but it's certainly easier to clean a row of rubber teeth than the broom itself. ._.

Where were these comments when this gimmick was being promoted. If people would leave their criticism at the submittal stage then bad ideas like this might not ever make it to this stage to sit there and rot until they are abandoned. A couple of you on here have some real insight to why this is a poorly thought out, gimmicky, never gonna sell piece of plastic but you never spoke up during the initial stage so now we all have to see it.

This is truly an awesome product, one of those "why didn't anybody ever think of this before!?" ideas. Marketed to the right niche, it WILL catch on and sell like rabid bunnies (dust bunnies?). Heh. Congrats Mr. Ward & other top ideators!

What will the teeth be made of? Give this thing some interchangeable teeth (False teeth, He He) for different brooms. You know how some people have plastic brooms and some people have wooden brooms. Well maybe for the plastic brooms, a rubber tipped teeth would work better than the plastic tipped used for the wooden ones. Good idea.

I think the broom needs to be sold with the pan to insure it works well together. Not all broom bristle are the same or same size, which would leave the door open for a non compatible broom and unhappy customer.

Great idea, but my question is this: Teeth clean broom = great. But now the teeth are dirty. How do I clean those? It's the same process as cleaning my broom. So how does this make my life any easier? I have 2 cats, and use a handvac more often than a dust pan. I think a better idea would be a vacuuming broom stand, where you stick your broom in and it sucks all the crap off the bristles = clean broom, no teeth.

Hey... Wouldn't these teeth get dirty too after a while?

so is this just a pan? or a broom and pan combo?
