Show AllUnlike many of the "reviews" here, I bought the product and love it. It holds all of the huge transformer plugs that are part of our computer desk, and fits into a strangely shaped spot against the wall. The cable installer saw it and was immediately hooked. He wanted to know where to buy it and I showed him this page. Like another poster, I also wish the item were made in the USA, but I wan unable to find a power strip that wasn't made in China, and this has the best quality of any power strip I've ever used.
To respond to the above- it's almost certainly a 110v. It's advertised to the USA, and looking at the outlets themselves, they appear to be of a 110v configuration.
Please answer me
is it working in 110v or 220v
This is a great product, but I'm not going to buy it because it's made in China. If it were made in the USA I would definitely buy it.
Quirky needs to launch the international version. I want to buy it but this version does not work in other countries.
Quirky need to launch a 230V supply supportive one before fake 230V coming to the international market. Otherwise it is too late to look at International market...
The product review states that, "finally every plug fits into every outlet" but the plug that goes into the outlet doesn't fit into the outlet if there's another plug in the same outlet! I wanted to use Pivot Power in my living room where I also have a lamp timer requiring it to be in the bottom outlet; the Pivot Power plug protrudes downward preventing the timer plug from inserting fully into its outlet. I have another surge protector that allows the plug head to be rotated so that it doesn't "hog" the whole 2 plug outlet. Huge disappointment for me that I can't use this where I purchased it to be used. I'll find another place to use it eventually but disappointed that this wasn't considered when designing it! Then it would have been perfect!
This is my first Quirky purchase, it was delivered today, and I couldn't be more thrilled. I used to have one of those long power strips on my desk which took up a lot of space. The Pivot Power takes up 1/3 of the space of a conventional power strip and holds a plug of any size without taking up 2 outlets. Brilliant idea and incredible product!!!
So next generation of people who uses this might say,
The shape changes if i kick it and loosens the cords plugged in. I wish this would stick in shape I designated until I want it to change shape. It's hard to put is on a wall because the shape does not lock in place and doesnt have good option to hand on a wall.
On the back side give it some hook attachment for say three of the plugs on the back so you can put in on a hook for people who wants to buy that attachment. Real easy hook that clicks in to nail on or hang on nails.
Locking mechanism. Easy does it. Add a slight tiny clasp where it comes out of the one plug (backside, and goes in to another's groove. Then it clicks in and stays the shape easily and for other users who doesnt care, the clasp stay in the plug back side. real easy to do. There may be two position it can do and that's where clasp should be and may require two clasp or Clasp can be a hinged or plug-in design with two tongue on a leveled so it can plug in and it should be easy to unplug that clasp. so should have easy way to unplug using back of quarter to pop it out when done using one such shape. Should be sold either package or make it so it can be purchased separately with the wall hanging click in or may use same holes for hanging click in mutlipurpose.
Why you havent' thought of it? Because it's on the floor on the video all those times. Never really though of it being on the wall which is 10 times more useful for cable management.
Ask a IT manager should it be on the floor or on a under desk cable management tray? I would say under tray best way to do it is find a hanging clasp and zip tie it. So your clip in should be easily manage standard IT manager's zip ties. Black or White. standard ones found at Home Depot.
:) good luck with next phase.
Unlike a previous reviewer, I do not think this product is overdesigned. I looked at the 90-degree outlets that he mentioned and they do not give you the same degree of flexibility in how you can position the plugs so that a combination of big and small ones will all fit within a reasonable amount of space. Plus, this product has feel of modern art to it. MOMA should add it to their permanent collection. Also, as a number of other reviewers mentioned, versions for other countries are sorely needed, as I sympathize with them greatly.
