Worked great for 2 months, Now doesnt retract anymore. To be fair the pup lunged on it some times, but the mech should be designed for that. So its stuck at full extension so its dead.

My Kosoku seems have 10 years. The seam ripped, retractable belt no longer works. Too bad, because I thought the material had good quality. I back to my old leash

I would like to see the retractable leash part, the actual leash, to be made of tape and not the cord that they use now in leashes. The tape is much nicer to work with than the cording when you are walking your dog. I had one that had tape and not cord and I loved it. It eventually broke and I can't find one to replace it. I agree there should be one for various sizes of dogs.

What about different colors for each size dog and boy or girl colors for those that dress up their dogs.

Retractable leashes can wrap around other dogs or peoples legs or neck and can be dangerous because the leash tends to be thinner than normal leashes. Most retractable leashes come with a warning to that effect to avoid legal liabilities.

It's an awesome idea but there should be sizes. One size for up to 15 lbs. One for 15-30. 30-50. 50-100. I don't know the numbers but there could be x-small, small, medium, large, x-large. Something.

The strap for the wrist is a good idea, but appears too snug to get the hand out in an emergency. It may need to have a velcro-type release. This design causes the owner to buy pre-packaged bags. Can other bags be folded down tight enough to fit in leash? Will more than one bag fit in the leash? After the first futile attempt of stuffing a bag in the leash, the price becomes an aggravation.

All of the traditional retractible leases have hard plastic handles that make it too difficult to use more than one at a time. I have 2 dogs and it is impossible to control both of them with one hand while I pick up after their mess. Assuming the lease can be locked so it does not extend while both are in one hand and you are working with the other hand to pick up, the looped handle of the Kosoku solves that problem and adds a unique marketing angle.

I think it's great as an all in one unit, no more excuses for not bagging your pets waste. Good idea, I personally don't need one because I have an older dog that walks without a leash, but I will recommend it for sure.

Make the device of transparent clear plastic. This way the prospective buyer can see how the mechanism works.
