Watt Time

Bright on Time!

View This Product's Development History

Watt Time integrates the iconic and familiar light bulb shape with your daily alarm clock. The light bulb shaped alarm clock not only adds some humor to your morning grind but might actually offer you one more reason to let go of your iPhone and blackberry. Time to put down your smart phone people, here’s an alarm clock that’s pretty enough to use!

Watt Time is constructed out of high gloss, hard plastic allowing the digital time display to shine through the bulb’s outer wall. A bright blue LED display illuminates the time and date and an easily accessible snooze button located on top of the bulb’s socket end, makes it possible for you to get those “5 more minutes” you always need. If the sound is not enough to wake you, you have the option of setting the bulb to illuminate when your alarm goes off as well.

Fear not, we’ve placed all set buttons discretely on the back of the bulb so as not to disturb the overall simplicity and beauty of the design.

Should have an option for solar power.. Sell it with that song "What's New?" Linda Ronstad picked it up (40s song) and sang it in the 80s.... could be resung as "WATTS NEW? How is the world treating you..."

Battery Operated- Double A's.... On first calculation... Lasts about 6 months per battery swap.

Is this battery operated? If so, whats the consensus on how long it will run on one set of batteries, and what kind of batteries it would take.

sorry, but i just don't see a market for this. who wants a big weird shaped thing next to them. we've moved on from a time when this would have become a hit, but hey good luck.

Since the light bulb is also iconic for having an idea, how 'bout incorporating a simple voice memo recorder? User wakes up at night with an idea, presses a button on Watt Time and records it - an alternative to keeping a notepad by the bed. ("Sound Ideas" feature?) Bonus if you could add a USB port to save idea memo recordings to a USB stick, which could also be used as an audio source for alarm sounds, wake-up music, etc... Seems like "Watt Time is it." would be a great tagline (as a statement, with emphasis on "it")

I agree with what some people have brought up. I think it should have the ability to wake-by-light like that Philips one. Also, when the alarm isn't going off, you could have the snooze button on top activate the light. It could have 2 or 3 levels of brightness too. Has there been any talk about the actual alarm sound(s)? It'd be nice to have choices.

another item that can be added...coin vibrator ...similar to those used in cell phone. so beside having radio tune as alarm...you can have it spin since the vibrator motion can do such job...remember the dancing Nokia trick people did on their 3310?

additional function like temperature monitoring/ humidity monitoring is a good add on since such sensor is quite cheap. if not mistaken, temperature sensor is using similar infar red sensor used for ambient light?

Hi Ben, just a suggestion; when their are over 150 entries for a product name, it might be nice to be able to sort the names alpahbetically to avoid redundancies such as thirty versions of "rise N shine." Thanks.

i think now, you need to think about it being affordable but yet cost effective. the light can be white LED. simple segregated LED light for numbering to be used to show the time. the speaker is good to be facing the bottom so all the sound can be "reflecting" from a hard table
