Product 0029
Luggage Tags are in common use but they could serve multiple purposes. 1. Combination Locking system for the tag allows expansion to lock the bag, and can attach other bags like your laptop bag to your primary luggage 2. Integrated Digital scale to weigh your luggage and make sure its under the 50lb limit (one fee would pay for this solution) Please help me make this a reality

I'm proposing a flexible analog version that can attach to an existing handle but does not serve as a handle. Pardon my art(?)work but the concept is two bungee type cords encased in flexible clear plastic tubing with a OK and OVER ranges identified on it. Each end features durable material with snaps that can be used to hang a bag for weighing. These same snaps can attach to each other, doubling the tag over on itself to hide the personal information. This would also make the unit smaller when not in use and less likely to get damaged in transit.
Revised drawings to show my first idea with a better picture. In this version you can use the hook to weigh the bag and the strap connects onto a handle on the bag. Perhaps the strap isn't needed if the hook area could be made strong enough to support pulling the luggage and still provide the scale functions
The second concept without a scale is the T handle with a carabiner like end to go around the luggage handle
My concept is a handle that could serve as a scale and could also function to aid the traveler in moving their luggage along. No digital display just a simple LED that's green under 50 lbs and red when over 50 lbs.
It could be designed in tube shape or in the T shape as depicted. I think the T shape better lends itself to the scale concept.
I've found that my luggage handle even when extended isn't very comfortable because of the hand position. I've used a luggage strap as Matthew Fleming has suggested but after a few terminals the strap is cutting into my hand.
In this concept the strap comes out the end and has a buckle clip that allows any size handle to be supported. The user can grip the round portion like a handle or pull by the T. It's not meant to be left on the bag, just used to weigh or assist with handling the bag
In addition to the locking option, I propose focusing away from the scale, and towards an ergonomic handle attachement functionality for the ubiquitous rolling luggage. Please check out the short video clip for a demo:

VROOOOM! This tag / scale design was inspired by fast cars. Safe at any speed, the comfortable handle is made from featherweight and unbreakable fiber reinforced plastic. The scale is an analog spring scale (cheap, accurate, reliable, NO BATTERIES) it is designed to look like a vintage automotive style gauge. The lens is unbreakable polycarbonate. The opposite side contains a personalized label.
The color and texture is what sets this tag apart - customers can choose from a wide assortment of colors and textures to match your own personality and style. You will be able to spot your luggage the minute it hits the conveyor belt.
