Following our 3 week old quirky tradition... lets have a design heavy weekend.

We're trying yet another thing new with this project... not only will you be able to evaluate our internal ideas/creations, but you'll be able to post your own.

We're designing the character for our first digidude. Have at it

Recap of the product idea
----------------------------

I would love to get your input and ideas on this product.

The idea here is to make a sexy cool product that blogs will admire and drive up pre-order sales to get the product out there faster.

The target audience is everyone that uses a digital camera, very rarely carries a tripod, and likes super cool toy figures that actually could be useful when needed.

I see big potential in naming this and coming up with better, even clever design (maybe it can hold back up batteries inside? stretch it's legs? or maybe a belt that be used to tie it to a pole?).

With a tripod like this, maybe people will actually want to smile!

IMPORTANT NOTE: ONLY IDEAS WITH AN ATTACHED IMAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED. ALL OTHERS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND REMOVED

The Winner!

attached is a blank template if you feel like creating your own, just upload it to photobucket or something and post url as a comment.

i realize that we can't do an R2D2 model, but i wanted to show that almost anything could go on this design, football players, obama, whatever. think munny.

this design is smaller then the other one and could actually could fit in your pocket!

three legs, holds cellphones and digital cameras, has a storage area, plus the possibility of expandable legs like the egg concept.

i'm excited to hear your feedback.

DigiDude with storage for batteries and digital camera flash card or memory stick. Just open his trench coat and there is space for those tiny accessories.

Tiny Dino. per Russell Smith's suggestion.

Additions to a similar, perhaps more cartoony t-rex: Joints on the bottom of the feet with a non-slip iPod pad-type rubber.

Jointed tail and legs (either pull apart or just jointed vertically)

Screw-off head revealing standard-size camera mount.

I like the actual "dudeness" of the original best. It's simple and clear and you don't have to worry about someone thinking cartoon characters are too goofy or robots are too sci fi. Just a little pal with universal appeal who helps you get good pictures.

(And if this idea has metaphorical legs as well as actual ones, the credit/influence/percent should go to Matthew.)

I know my picture stinks. My photo shop skills are nonexistent.

Imaging the bones are connected to the back of the skull. Then you flip them down for a four point base. The base would be very wide and steady.

This would be a big hit with the younger crows. Especially the punk rock and goth. kids.

This is a simple PDF with real life digi-dude Ideas inside. A few of these are a clay model I made, and the other is a demonstration of how metal wire encased in rubber is able to hold up and steady a full weight digital camera.

P.S: Dont vote for this... It is just an idea I'm trying to get out there.

R2-D2 with movable arms and retractable 3rd leg, perfect for stability and ability to change the angle you want. Twist off head. Added feature of slots for storing your extra memory cards.

I really think this will have to be waaaaay to big to be a keychain if it's really going to be functional (otherwise, if it's going to be so tiny, what's the point of carrying it around when you can sit it on a table or floor for the same effect). Instead, make it a carrying case that transforms into a tripod. It is useful as 2 things in one and has the coolness/wow factor!

This is a simple, cute frog. It would have a soft-touch rubber finish, a metal wire tail with rubber coating (To attach it to poles), Tungsten weights in the feet to keep it from becoming too top-heavy, rubber gripped feet to keep it steady, and a screw off head that reveals a camera screw.

Hope you like the froggy cuteness!!
