Product Naming

Weekend Naming Session Anyone?

Lets do it. Please note, we’re not sure the feasibility of a wire-only cutter, so please keep the names wire-inclusion-agnostic.

RECAP OF WHAT THIS THING DOES:

I love summer and its fruit-filled bounty, but I’m tired of jeopardizing my fingers by trying to use a rigid knife to cut curved fruit.

Sure, melon slicers already exist, but 1. I don’t want the rind – I’m trying to save space, and 2. I can’t be bothered to scoop melon balls. I want something fast and easy.

My idea is a slicer which uses a retractable “wire” (or a similar, magical material – engineers?) to slice various melons and possibly even cheese.

How it works:

1. Per my sketch, imagine a disk with the wire coiled inside.
2. Pulling the parts of the disk apart exposes the wire to your preferred length.
3. Holding one side in each hand, you quickly slide it along the contour of the rind.
4. You can then create vertical slices through the flesh.

Key features:

Must be small, light, washable, easily retractable, cheap and visually appealing.

The Winner!
